Transport Planner Specialist

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand custody, and client transport.

The Transport Department (TA) is tasked with transporting and supervising incarcerated individuals. It is the clients of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service who are moved between remand facilities and prisons, to court hearings and hospitals, among other places. TA also transports incarcerated individuals on behalf of the Police, the National Board of Institutional Care, the Migration Agency, and psychiatry. We are now looking for 1 Transport Planner Specialist for our office in Arvidsjaur.

Interviews will be held in person in Arvidsjaur on Tuesday, January 27.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The planning operations are based in Arvidsjaur and are organized into two workgroups, one for domestic and one for international transport. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of the group for planning international transport, though based in Arvidsjaur. Within each workgroup, the transport planner is responsible for planning transports based on requirements for safety, work environment, efficiency, service level, and good resource management.

You will work on the development of work methods and routines related to the operations. You will also work on the development of processes related to transport via charter as well as via regular air traffic.

Furthermore, you are expected to participate in meetings and represent the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, where inter-agency collaboration related to the execution of transport assignments is exercised.

You will plan and coordinate transport primarily by air but also manage other transport assignments regardless of the mode of transport. An important part of your work is to continuously collaborate with clients, colleagues within the planning group, and transport staff. You will also work closely with representatives from the Migration Agency, the Police Authority, and maintain contact with other government representatives, airlines, and other external actors.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are now looking for someone who is interested in working on the development of work methods and routines related to the operations. You should also enjoy working on the development of processes related to transport via charter and regular air traffic.

As you will participate in meetings with external partners as a representative of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, it is important that you enjoy building good and long-term working relationships. It is also important that you feel comfortable in this type of context and in your communication in both Swedish and English.

To be a good representative for the Transport Department/Swedish Prison and Probation Service in these meetings, you need to be well-informed about the Transport Department's organization and operations as well as have experience in international planning within the authority.

We are looking for someone who has good collaboration skills and is good at creating and maintaining relationships. You enjoy working towards set goals and have the ability to independently drive your work forward. You are also someone who can remain calm and make accurate assessments and priorities in stressful situations.

Parts of the interview will be conducted in English.

We are looking for you who have:

  • Completed upper secondary education in the form of a diploma or high school certificate
  • Experience in international planning within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's Transport Department.
  • Work experience in transport planning within the aviation, freight, and logistics industry
  • Good knowledge of English in both speech and writing. (at least B2 CEFR certificate)
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
  • Good knowledge of working with IT systems.
  • Swedish citizenship

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

  • Transport planning, forwarding, or logistics education
  • Leadership role
  • Work as a project manager
  • Government operations and/or international operations
  • Collaboration with other countries
  • Experience in the travel booking industry and knowledge of Amadeus.
